More than 170 laboratories from around the world have signed up for the 3rd round of the “Biennial Global Interlaboratory Assessment of POPs Laboratories” – IL2016-POP, with 133 laboratories reported results.

Final Workshop of the 3rd Round Interlaboratory Assessment
Organized by UN Environment Chemicals and Health Branch in close cooperation with the Basel Convention Regional Centre for Training and Technology Transfer in Asia and the Pacific Region (BCRC China) and the Stockholm Convention Regional Centre in the Latin American and Caribbean Region (SCRC Uruguay), the Final Workshop of the Third Round Biennial Global Interlaboratory Assessment on Persistent Organic Pollutants was held in April 06-07 2017, Beijing, China.
Representataives of 45 laboratories and organizations from 27 countries participated in the workshop, communicated on the results and outcomes of the 3rd round interlaboratory assessment, and discussed together on the further plans to strengthen capacity building at regional and global level to acheve the goal of analysing samples for POPs within a margin of ±25% as requested by the Stockholm Convention.
