The BCCC-SCRC implements various projects/activities to contribute to the implementation of the Basel, Stockholm, Rotterdam and Minamata Conventions, which are global treaties to protect human health and the environment of the adverse effects of certain chemicals, which is directly aligned with initiatives such as SAICM and with some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The countries approved a work plan in September 2015: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, to achieve a sustainable planet in 15 years. The plan covers economic, social and environmental dimensions and has 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
