Summary of project activities and results:<\/h3>\n

– Design of a survey to gather information on the status of waste disposal facilities in the region.<\/p>\n

– Design and conduct a distance learning course and a face-to-face course for stakeholders in the region on environmentally sound management of hazardous waste.<\/p>\n

– Promote environmentally sound management of hazardous and other wastes, including promotion of best available techniques and best environmental practices (BAT and BEP).<\/p>\n

– Assist in national capacity building in this area.<\/p>\n

– Update technical guidelines on hazardous waste management (English and Spanish).<\/p>\n

– Develop and implement sensitization and awareness-raising activities aimed at promoting sound hazardous waste management.[\/vc_column_text]

The course was held over 3 days at the AUROLA hotel, and on the morning of October 1, a visit was made to a battery recycling plant 30 km from the hotel.[\/vc_column_text]
